I was at the gas station at Ft McNair pumping gas, and the gas overflowed spilling gas all over the place. It must have been an omen because I decided to take my car to the shop (for its routine oil change) immediately, instead of leaving it on base and biking to work. I didn't want to leave my car with a completely full tank of gas.
After dropping it off at A-1 Auto in Arlington, Shinki told me that my battery was dead. I was surprised -- it had been nearly four years since I had my battery replaced, but it wasn't really giving me any problems, although the type of driving I do, does not bode well for car batteries -- short 5 minute trips to the Congress Heights metro station.
Well come to find out, I need to get my front brake pads and rear rotors changed out also. No wonder I was getting that funny burnt smell after driving up or down hill.
